Ariane and I were so sad to hear of Lawrence's passing.
I remember Lawrence as a musical colleague in the c 1980s Rattray Band (with whom I played piano) and the many gigs we shared in the north of England, from local village ceilidhs to the annual Free Trade Hall bash in Manchester. Lawrence was always calm, always smiling, even in tunes that were sometimes interminably long and repetitive - and he always played the right notes!
What Ariane and I also remember was that, after Jessie died, Lawrence visited us once at home, just after our daughter Katy Annabelle (now aged 42) was born. Like many bass players, Lawrence had very large hands. Annabelle fitted comfortably into the palm of Lawrence's hand - and she wasn't very small!
We both send our condolences to the family and wish you strength and comfort going forwards.
With love,
Peter and Ariane Lawson
